Since it will be a colored paint, I would use an outdoor latex paint. Be sure to apply a primer/sealer first. Latex is basically a rubber type paint. It will expand and contract with changing weather conditions. Buy a good grade paint from a paint store. They also will be able to give you additional help with selection.

Minwax makes many colors in stains and is an excellent product. Also there are colors in deck and siding stains. Personally I think stain is best as it will not peal and even
outdoor house paint will eventually peal. Repainting is much
more work as it must be scraped prepreped. Where you
can simply use an over all cleaner pryor to restaining.
Ck at homedepot lowes or your larger hardware stores for
products.

the play house is probably pre treated with a ten year gauranty (pressure treated) you could use ordinary paint over this if it is properly dried first (it should be) use oil based wood primer, undercoat and then gloss of chosen colour... the only problem with this is the upkeep of it as it will need sanding down and re coating yearly at least to keep water from penetrating under the paint causing rot and looking unsightly! treating with exterior wood preservers etc is much easier quicker and simpler but good luck anyway!!!

Use a solid color stain which you can get any color you'd like under the sun. On new wood you should go and stick with a stain because down the line when it's time to redo it's a power wash for prep work and that's about it. Good Luck Les the painter

This is really something to find that many all together. For someone like me who is just really starting to get involved with woodworking this was like letting me loose in a candy store and telling me I could have anything I wanted. That was my dream when I was a kid.

Depending upon how much you have invested in it, I would go with Marine paint...as in, for boats. It is attractive, comes in a variety of colors and is long lasting.

My friend is a professional decorator and he tells me that the Leyland microporous paint system lasts up to 8 years. And he has tried them all.
