LMAO

True, sooo true!

The only reason I can think of is for the stupid people who pop pills without taking the time to read the label. They might read the caution label ... but would they know what the word drowsiness means?

because pill these days are not always used for the designed purpose.

some drugs released to treat a condition have been found to be just as effective at treating other conditions.

so someone could be prescribed weak sleeping pills to, for example, reduce blood pressure or lower stress levels. in this situation the warning is valid as the person may not be aware they have been prescribed tablets that could cause drowsiness.

Because some people don't understand how the medicine works. They think that sleeping pills just make them sleep when they want to sleep. I drive an ambulance. I have this sweet little lady who called 911 because she took some sleeping pills and she could not keep her eyes open. People do crazy thing after they take the pills because they are not sleepy right away, like drive, use sharp objects, operate heavy machinery or play with their infants in bed (then fall asleep on the baby--tragic, but it happens).

Have you heard of the words "attorney" and "lawyer"?

I was cautioned in pharmacy school to not tell patients that a sleeping pill will make them sleepy, because they'll stay up all night waiting to get sleepy! I kid you not!

Because we live in a litigious society, these warnings are necessary, you know like "warning, hot coffee" on a coffee cup lid. We've all heard the stories about the elderly lady's family that successfully sued McDonald's because her coffee burned her when it spilled on her lap - and McDonald "failed" to warn her of the dangers of hot coffee!

Be well.

Probably for the same reason that they now have to put on "to-go" coffee cups "Caution contents are Hot" because some idiot out there will try and sue the company if there isn't a disclaimer.

cos people think that once they had their nap that's it
but the drowsy effect may go on for longer periods
caution for people who drives or uses heavy machinery

because the FDA requires them to put that and other warnings on the bottle.

the main reason is because there are people out there that have sued the companies and that don't understand the drug facts.

well some people are not very cautious and aware of the pills....so read labels carefully esp on medication, ie unless you wanna attempt suicide.

'Allergy Advice: Warning Ketchup contains tomatoes.'

They have to put stupid stuff like this on there so people don't sue.
