You know, like all people of all religions have DREAMS, which are artefacts of the brain.

While GOD does choose to speak to us in dreams and visions, it is not exclusively the ONLY that HE speaks to us. In Christianity~ The Lord GOD chose HIS Holy Bible as the primary transportation in which HE relays to us the MAJORS in life.

Through many personal experiences; or rather "God-experiences" as you call it...I have come to know that there is NONE ELSE THAT EVEN COMES CLOSE to comparing to the love of GOD in Christ Jesus.

IMO/ God Bless~

Dreams?

My dog has dreams, I have seen his eyes rolling and he pumps his legs like he is in a full run. Does that prove that God is sending a religious experience to my dog? Or is it more likely that Dreams are just a way for the brain to be active while the body rests?

I think that the reason that differing religions share similar 'God' experiences is because they attribute, natural occurrences to God. Suffering is universal, and when it is eased all humans are happy. Christians will say that Jesus healed them, where as Muslims will say that it was via the grace of Allah.

The fact that there are similar experiences highlights the fact that all humans experience similar things and seeing as we all have brains but have different Gods, it has to be the brain.

Good point.

Because, in my opinion, every religion of the world has basically "taken part of their beleifs from other religions. Meaning, there is a reason that Mithra was a god in living form, believe to be born near the winter solstice, died and rose three days later. Hmm, who else is known for doing that? The greeks have a flood story very similar to the biblical one.

Here's a question for you, what do Jesus, Satan, Prometheus, and Socrates have in common?

So, given the intertwining of religious events throught the different belief systems, there are likely similar experiences.

There are two possible conclusions:

Either every religion is just a manifestation of one overall God and people choose to interpret it in different ways - in which case no religion should be able to say they are right and others are wrong.

Every brain is similar in composition and so all are susceptible to the same delusions.

Well, what do you expect, of course they're gonna have similar experiences. If there was a god, there's only one. Religions are just just different ways to get to god.

There is enough statistical and experimental evidence to show that people's thoughts can be transmitted and recieved through methods not known to or provable by science. It is reasonable to postulate that this 'telepathy' could be the cause of the similarity of the experiences, and furthermore could even be the subject of these experiences.

Since there is no real evidence of the existence of god, any experiences with god-ish properties must be artifacts of the brain.

I have dreams, but am an atheist.
From my experience in life- it seems to me that the god experience is very individual, rather than similar. However- there are similar traits (i.e. explaining the unknown, watching over me)

Artifacts? Okay... put down the pseudo-science book and step back slowly.

Apparently you don't understand the concept that Buddhism doesn't believe in an omnipotent creator being, so obviously we're not having the same "experiences".
