Well that could never happen if you read and study the word of God for yourself. And realize something here. I speak around the country and many times teach on scriptures that the presiding pastor already taught on. But when I speak I may or may not say the same things as he did. Why? Because God will give many revelations thru the exact same scriptures. But that in no way suggests that what the pastor taught was wrong.

If it's the "Word of God" then how could it be wrong? If you find out that something you previously thought was the "word of God" is wrong, then you have discovered that it is not really the "Word of God."

I used to think the Bible was 100% true and inspired by God, but I no longer believe this.

what is "The Word of God"? Are the veda's the word of god? The Quran?

I suspect the people who really thought the world was supported by 4 turtles were disappointed when the Apollo missions sent footage back that showed the world was not supported in such a manner. At least if they took allegory seriously (I don't hear too much about fundamentalist hindus but one imagines they exist).

There are debatable issues within The Church... And there are subjects which are not debatable... I have found that I had incorrectly understood some... and I have read and studied as best I can... all while praying for guidance...and have been led to alter my position on certain things... But the core remains firm... what I was given by God at the instant of my Salvation IS The Word and Will of God and in inviolate.

Would you clear up just what you mean by the word of God ? Except in superstitious imaginations, God has never spoken to anybody. God has never written anything.
What is often called the word of God, is actually the word of ordinary people claiming to know what God wants. It's all in the mind.

If people teach me wrong, what they believe to be the Word of God, that's their fault. If I don't sincerely seek the truth, that's my fault.

The true preacher will not erred in his teachings.

John 7:17 If any man willeth to do his will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is of God, or whether I speak from myself.

John 7:18 He that speaketh from himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh the glory of him that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

There is no "word of God". All those religious books were written by men, then altered and twisted by more men.

It is best to get the answers straight from the source, the Holy Bible.
