Last night I had some pain in my stomach but i ignored it because I thought i could sleep through it but it woke me up after about a half hour and it had gotten a lot worse it was unbearable pain....I'm usually very tolerable to pain anyways I stayed up then I took some advil and after a half hour or so the pain went away completely yet my stomach was tense then I had a good night of sleep when I woke up (four hours later) the pain was still gone but my stomach was still tense to the right of the navel but not too the left....well now the pain is starting to return so just took some more advil and hope that will settle my stomach down enough for school tomorrow....Symptoms: :I have a loss of appetite, weak, walking and standing causes discomfort and tense stomach muscles (right of navel), sort of feverish....so suggestions would be very helpful, also if someone told me the procedure from going to the hospital and to surgery and time length.(this is was all within a 18 hour period)

Definitely go to the doctor or hospital to get checked out. If you appendix does burst, you could die.

The operation is simple and routine. You'll be up and running in just a few days after it's done.

Usually people i've seen with appendicitis star out with general abdominal pain, they cant even point out a certain area, they just do a circular motion over their abdomen b/c their whole abdomen hurts.
Loss of appetite is definitely a good symptom of appendicitis, along with nausea, but this could also be a symptom of an obstruction.
If it is appendicits, as it gets worse it will start to hurt clearly in one area, usually between the belly button and hip bone on the right side. Somtimes it only hurts right in the center of the abdomen, not on the right side, but the pain will eventually feel like it is moving to the right.
If the inflammation has spread, when you push on the area over the right spot, it'll hurt worse right after you psuh it. If this is the case, get to the ER asap.
If you need your appendix removed, they should give you anti-biotics first. The docs will knock you out of course, make a really small cut, examine the area aroun the appendix to make sure theres nothing else going on, and then remove your appendix.
If its caught in time befor emaking you too ill, you'll be out in 2 or 3 days. If there is alot of infection, you can expect to be there 5-7 days.
Go get checked, you certainly dont want your appendix to rupture or become more infected. There are a few other things your symptoms could be, and your time at the doc may turn out to be nothing serious at all!
Good luck, feel better, and take good care of yourself!

As a medical professional you present with a frequent cause of discomfort. Differential diagnosis include too many things to list here ....among them appendicitis. You need to be examined and have a white blood cell count taken to see if you have appendicitis. Many appendcitis episodes are NOT treated by surgery immediately depending upon severity of infection, white blood cell count and pain level. Worst case and they need to take it out, without complications you can be out in as little as 24 to 36 hours. Go see a health care provider.

if you even think you have Appendicitis, you need to get it checked out like yesterday, complications when it finally burst would not be to your advantage.
