Thing is, I really, REALLY wish I could believe. When times are tough, it's a real comfort to think there is a God out there somewhere. But it just doesn't make any sense anymore. Where are the miracles talked about in the Bible? I need to see a miracle. I need to see something concrete.

That's when you're free to start thinking... you get to decide for yourself... and you are a good person, I'm sure you will make mostly good choices (like all of us).

I'm going to give you a fair opinion on this (something you'll find christians have difficulty doing).

Look at why you feel like this. What has caused you to think that way?

If those reasons in your mind outweigh the reasons you used to believe in God, try becoming an atheist or agnostic (join the club!) see if it feels right.

If in the end you feel like you were right in the first place, believe in God.

Maybe you should take things day by day. Try to figure out why you feel the way you feel. Wanting to believe and truly believing are two completely different things.

And your unbelief is based on what?

Lack of evidence according to a flawed perception.

The human logic of a fallen creature.

Some type of negative experience based upon a failed expectation.

If you are saying that all of a sudden God doesn't exist, ask yourself, what caused existence to consist?

James 2:19

"Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble."

Everything you did before, except perhaps for church, praying, that sort of thing. Maybe even do some things you were afraid to do before. Realize that the only truly wrong thing to do is to hurt someone else, and live your life to its fullest, armed with that new knowledge.

Be an atheist. Been there for about 30 years.

It's time then to sit down and consider what happened to cause you to stop believing? I assure you that it had nothing to do with God not being who he says he is. 99.9% of the times, the cause of disbelief is nothing more than deep-seated selfishness.

1. Find other reasons to be good and have a conscience.
2. Find friends outside of church.
