Ok, Heres the deal, I have not had any chemicals in my hair since 2000, i have naturally curly hair and i often wear braids because i cant do anything with it, ive tried just about everything and im thinking of using a texturizer just to stretch it out a bit so it doesnt shrink and i can wear it down sometime, However, my hair is jet black and i dont want my hair color to change as i have heard it can with chemicals and i've heard that since i have virgin hair, chemicals can also MELT my hair......i am about to lose my brain over this, Anybody got any suggestions.........Also does anybody know if the vitamins Hair Skin and Nails work?..........Thanx Katrina

Sister, the best way for you to keep your hair this versatile is to do what you were doing before that's right, keep it braided up. I would recommend changing the styles up like when you want it straight get beautiful long micros, or if you want some style switch it up from twist to cornrows and updo's. However, i don understand that sometimes you just want to be natural. So when those times arrive flat iron, ponytails, and scarves are the best way to go..Your one of the lucky ones you can change up whenever you want to. Take advantage of your versatility and broaden your horizons, just don't forget to shampoo and condition is the number one priority after all a clean head is a healthy one. Also, don't forget to get a good moisturizer not to heavy to weigh down your hair or irritate the scalp. Have fun!!

without chemicals all you can do is straighten it with a flat iron. There is a chinese straighting (works better then a reverse perm) if you go into the hair salon they can do it. It supposedly will keep your hair straight for 6-9 months at a time. Only some salons have the chemical to do it though.

Have you ever thought of falt ironing your hair. You might have to go to a proffesional because the irons they sell in store will not get hot enough to straighten your curl pattern. This way you can achieve the straight styles you want without applying chemicals to your scalp

Are you black? If so, I don't have any chemicals in my hair. I have never had a perm, but I get my hair straightened/flat ironed. That's an option. My hair is extremely long. It comes almost to the end of my back, but if I don't get it straightened, then it is naturally curly.
