If I want to go to New York in mid June, when do I get tickets?

I'm going to New York this June for my graduation/birthday. And if I want two really good tickets for the plane, when should I get them.

I would start looking now for tickets. June is a very busy month in the airline industry and seats book up quickly. The airlines have several "categories" of seats - each priced differently. The cheaper seats always sell out first, so the earlier you can buy the tickets the better price and selection you will have. Good luck and congratulations!

Try checkin from now and late april...

Im in hospitality and tourism management at my school and I do alot of travel planning and scheduling for myself, friends and family.

Usually i tend to check about a month to three weeks before the date of travel.

I also check for best prices according to days of the week instead of flying on the weekends wich is more expensive.

Depending on when the event may take place (say its on a Saturday...buy your ticket from the previous wed, or thursday to the following tuesday).

That way you will not be charged for weekend fairs and you will have a less hecktic flight.

you should get them now, you could get a cheaper rate. just came back from new york not that long ago and it was a blast. dont forget to try like travelocity. they have good rates.
