I'm trying to record a song on tape and put it on the computer.

The easiest thing to do is get a cable that connects the headphone jack on your tape player to the microphone jack on your sound card. Use of the AUX port may help a little with sound quality, although not much if you set volumes correctly.

Then, use a sound recorder program on your PC to record. Some will allow you to do some cleanup on the sound. Then use a CD burning program to create an audio (not data) CD.

Plug it in, load your application, play your documents & 'seize' them to the laptop. certainly one of those stuff often comes with application for removing 'hissing' & different undesirable noises. additionally, USB Turntables often contain a port that facilitates you to connect tape contraptions for recording interior the comparable way.
