A good friend of mine was molested by two of her cousins when she was young, both of which are several years older (the younger of the two is 6 years older). It may have been three. She is not sure of exactly when it happened or exactly WHAT happened for that matter, but she does know that she was between the ages of 5 and 11 years old. She has never told anyone but me, but I think she needs to tell SOMEONE. She will be 19 this year, and had it not been for the two of them, she would still be a virgin. She told me that she feels responsible, because they would make her act sexually with them in return for things she could not do herself (i.e. cooking), and she agreed and actively participated. What can we do to get this off of her mind?

At least she has you to talk to! It's great that you're such a good friend.
She NEEDS a therapist! If she is close to her parents, it would do well for her to tell them, otherwise she should talk to a priest, school counselor or a trusted adult. Would your parents help if her own will not?
Good luck and may God bless the both of you!

Tell her it is NOT her fault...make sure she understands that..MAKE SURE.no one deserves that...if she doesnt feel comfortable dont make her talk about to anyone besides you...she obviously trusted YOU no one else. If she doesnt want to remember then dont make her...every one always tried to tell me how i should feel... what i should do...what i should say or not say DONT do that to her....if telling some one would help try her parents first if that doesnt help confront these guys if she is up to it... it happened to me every day from the time i was 4 till i was 9 im 17 and i still am not ready to confront him...DO NOT push her PLEASE...make sure they are not around anyone else they could be doing this to...

Try searching the internet for a toll-free number, there's usually people you can get help from. Or, go to a pshycolohist. That's great of you to keep her secret, but it's time for her to tell someone.

She needs counseling. Unless you are a certified therapist, leave the talking to a professional. I don't think it will ever "get off her mind," but with counseling she can work through it and put it behind her. Good luck to your friend.

Set her up with a good therapist... sometimes its good to step out of the "circle of trust" (ie. the people you know) and explain it to a good non-biased person. Probably help her out confinding in someone she doesn't know. Oh and get some hired thugs to beat up her cousins... it's only fair.

She definitely needs you to be there for her. Just be a friend and support her and ask what desicions she wants to make. And to importantly know its not her fault.
