Please please don't touch your cat's whiskers, they are long for a reason. The whiskers are there to let a cat know how wide a space is, and if they can get through the space without getting caught.
But that's not the reason not to cut a cat's whiskers. IF you do that you are going to cause a problem for the cat, it makes the cat unbalanced. It will actually not be able to jump correctly. It can get hurt very easily. Actually, it won't even be able to walk correctly until the whiskers grow back.
Oh, by the way, cat's whiskers are extremely sensitive, they don't even like to have their whiskers touched. They don't even like it when their whiskers touch their cat food bowls.

Don't ever trim your cat's whiskers, they serve a major purpose in helping the cat sense tight spaces in an instant on a full run.

No! Whiskers are their boundary sensors! They are the width of the body as well as the height! This is how they know where they get in and fit in! That is extremely cruel! Do not trim their whiskers! They sense movement, vibrations, air flow, etc!

No you should not trim the whiskers they use them for senses to see how large a space is before going into it.

Don't ever trim a cat's whiskers. They are his/her boundry sensors. They let your cat know if he is going to get stuck (whiskers are usually about as long as the cat is wide), and if there is any danger near.

No. They help them to determine how tight of a space they can get in to or out of. Also, cats can not see any better than you or I in total darkness. Their whiskers help them navigate in darkness by the way the air flow and drafts hit their whiskers.

For god sakes NO! Cats use whiskers as a tool to tell if they can fit through an opening, and to know what is around them while they are looking at something else. cutting them would make life very very difficult for them.
