We can't afford to have dancing at our reception and we are not throwing the bouquet or garter belt, because all or our guest are married or have singinficat others. We are serving a sit down dinner and wedding cake and having the toast. What are some of the other ideas that we could do for our reception. We are having about 50 guest total... Any Suggestions? Plus our reception is in a small Greek Restuarant in the banquet room.

I went to a wedding last fall and they had a sit dow dinner at a great restaurant. We were about 30 people all together, and we just enjoyed ourselves over drinks and dinner. They didn't have dancing or games... and we had a blast! we just conversed and had a great time.

If you still want to do somtheing to entretain yoru guest, have a short slide show of you guys as a couple, baby pictures, fisrt date and such and play it with a projector on a wall or a laptop. Have a wishing well and have guest write their wishes on a piece of paper. have a small display of memories, or mementos for your guests to see.

Good luck and ccongratulations

It would be nice to have some music to keep the party going and I would definitely have some dancing. What I would do is ask the proprieter of the restaurant if you could bring a large Boom Box with your own music CD's. Select carefully and choose a varied type of dance music that couples would love. I did that for my Mothers birthday party and it was a great success and it didn't cost me a dime. The bouquet thing and garter is not that necessary. Do a cake cutting ceremony. Also buy a beautiful wedding memory book and have each guest sign the book writing their good wishes to you and your husband. I would also buy wedding favors such as a picture frame, a cake server, a lovely candle. Ask the proprieter if one of the waiters could act as the MC and introduce you and your new husband, the parents and the bridal party if you have one. Good Luck

why can't you afford dancing? Move the tables off to the side and bring a ghetto blaster. If you want to have dancing you can do it.
Or just get a friend to come and play the music for you.
Short of playing games (which I think would be weird and lame), I guess you guys you could mingle and visit. But dont' expect it to go late!
