I left my cat alone for 2 minutes in my roome nd wen i came back there was bits of fur on the floor and specks of blood on the bookcase. the blood seems to be coming from his ear, its not running out of his ear, and there are no longer any specks coming out when he shakes his head. his does not seem to be in any pain at all and is purring and following me about the house like usual, but i am very very worried. please help.

Have a really close look at the cats ear. See if you can locate exactly where the blood came from. If it fell and scratched itself, or if it went a bit nuts with the claws scratching the ear. If you can find the injury you will probably be able to guess what caused it. Clean the ear with warm water and cotton balls or q-tips as long as you don't go into the ear canal with them. Double check the fur to make sure it was the cats and not a mouse or something. If it scratched at a mosquito that had a full load it will leave bloody spots too.

If you can not locate where the blood and fur came from you may want to consider a trip to the vet. Cat's don't always land on their feet (seen them fall off stuff they were sleeping on more than once), it may have hurt the ear internally.

Yes I agree you should take him to the vet right away. I had a similar thing happen to one of my cats, and I did not take him to the vet like I should have.

He went deaf because of my neglect. So you should take your cat to the vet, okay?

If your cat was bleeding out his ears, then get him to the VET! He could have been inturnally bleeding or something. i hope he gets better. It's a good thing that you asked for advise.
