she has a baby from a different guy and he is not in the baby's life at all. my girlfriend wants me to be around her baby as much as i am around her. is this ok for me to do. also is it ok for me and her to bring the baby on our dates and stuff.

As a single mom if you think you guys are going to last and possibly end in marriage than there is no foul hanging around the baby. If you are just together because it is the right thing for right now use caution. Sometimes girls date guys looking for a new father for their child or at least a father figure. You do need to be considerate of the situation and if she can't find a babysitter for when you want to go out make sure you can take the child along. But if you don't think this is going to work in the long run try not to get to involved with the child, if they are old enough to remember you it will only confuse them in the future. I think that you should be very careful when it comes to your girlfriend child. The baby may get attached and you need to be very careful. If you think you are going to be with her for awhile I think you should wait to be around her child. You should just respect her and lover her and just see what happens. The best of luck. She has to have the other guy take care of the responsibilities and only if you want to help you can. Don't feel obligated.

It's ok to be around the child some of the time I wouldn't bring him/her on dates. That's a bit much! You also don't want to get to attached to the child or let the child get to attached to you unless you sure this relationship is going to last.

I would never, never, never, never get involved in a situation like that. With all the baby daddy drama. Who the hell needs it? There are so many other woman out there who aren't having babies born out of wedlock. Call me old-fashioned, I don't really care. But society today has gotten too out of hand with unmarried woman having babies. Good luck to you.

Being with her means being wiith the baby...its an innocent child n you being a father to her/him wont kill u. go on dates with the baby but not always... imagine u were the father to that kid, what wud u do? do exactly that... it will make your lives much simpler as she wudnt have to chose between u and the baby...

Treat the baby as if it is your very own. You should also hire a trusting babysitter while you are on your dates.

if you are comfortable with it there is nothing wrong with it and yes its OK to take the baby with out on dates with the both of you though it would be nice if sometimes it could be just the 2 of you

i think that after i had my daughter..i push to much my child on this guy i was seeing..and so i dont think he was ready for all that so i think that may have caused our break up among other things..i have learned and now my daugther is four and with my guyof two years i dont do that i let him play with her and buy her what he likes..i let him make the move..
it seems as though you are not ready to be around her child..do you love her,is she good to you..is he handling her business..or is she depending on you to take care of her and her child..ask yourself these questions..if you love her then treat she and her kid right

you seem to have a problem with this girl and her baby..so leave the girl alone and find someone who doesn't have a kid...everyone know if you initiate a relationship with this girl automatically a baby is involved...what is she to do..pay attention to you and not her baby...please!!!

It seriously depends on how you feel about the girl...If you see yourself with her (potentially marriage) then OK, but if not, than don't waste your time.
