One can carefully study the doctrines and theologies of the Mormon beliefs (see sources below), and can then form their own conclusions. I have found the non-Christian religions, such as Mormonism, to be philosophically indefensible, being internally incoherent or undermining human reason and experience.

There are many members of religious groups that have staked their eternal souls on their beliefs without searching the scriptures, reviewing the doctrinal writings of church leaders, studying hermeneutics, philosophy, logic, and theology to satisfy themselves that what they have been told is sufficiently rational and worth believing.

There are a lot of Momon-haters that are attracted to these pages. Mormons claim that they have the truth and that others have only partial or incomplete truths (which is why many people hate them).
The official name of the "mormon church" is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints" Mormons are simply members of this church. They are called "Mormons" after a book of scripture called "The Book of Mormon".
They condemn the practice of polygamy and do not practice it. There are some offshoot groups of mormons that do so, however.
It is perfectly legal in all 50 states as well as just about any country in the world that allows christianity to be practiced.
Mormons are christians.

"Mormon" is a nickname given by people to those who believe in the Book of Mormon, which is another scriptural record that testify of Jesus Christ.
Official name of the church is , "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints."
I have been a member for over 34 years, we study both the Bible and the book of Mormon, we work pay taxes and make a living just like every one else. We sent our kids to Boyscouts, we teaches self reliant, and we have only one wife.
Our church location can be found in the yellow pages over the whole United States, anyone can go in and see how we are, is not cult secretive as some make up.
Whether we are our cult, is totally an opinion from the ignorant and those who like to bad mouth others.

A Mormon is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The nickname "Mormon" comes from the prophet Mormon, who was responsible for abridging the metal plates used in compiling the "Book of Mormon".
Yes it is legal to become a Mormon in any of the states in the USA. In fact the "Mormon" religion is the largest American based Church. It is also a worldwide Church and has members in at least 160 nations as well.
Also members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints do not practice polygamy.

Mormons are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They believe that a new testament of Jesus Christ was revealed to the prophet Joseph Smith in the mid-1800s. The LDS Church is currently based in Utah and is legal throughout the United States and most western countries.

The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints.
Usually abbreviated LDS.
Legal in all the USA. I think (but am not sure) that they are illegal in Saudi Arabia and China.

They are a religious sect.
You can research them on the web.
It is interest to read the ex-Mormon's stories. What actually goes on in their church.

I will tell you in all honesty and being sincere to stay away from the mormon cult. They are a cult, they do not abide by the word of God, but claim to- they live by the book of mormon which was written by Joseph Smith, someone who did add to God's word, especially in Revelations, and God warns us not to do that.....They believe Jesus is satans brother, which is NOT biblical---so that is pretty much all you need to know right there, just knowing that, you should know the rest of their beliefs fall apart.....If I were you I would look online about Mormon beliefs and what the Bible says---to see the differences. I used to know of this great website---but I forgot it.
