A traditional rosary does have three-way connector. I've seen this be a medal, a larger bead, or a knot, depending on the style of rosary.
I have also seen rosary bracelets, rosary rings, and rosary cards that are pretty much nothing more than a set of ten beads (or dots) to help people keep count of their "Hail Mary" prayers.
I wouldn't worry too much about the specific parts - a rosary is just tool for certain form of prayer. If you are making them as gifts or to sell, I would probably stick to the traditional style. But it's the prayers that are important, not the rosary itself.

Rosaries is not biblical. It is against the law of Christ.
Matthew 6:7 And in praying use not vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
