What 5 possesions can a Buddhist monk or nun own?

Robes, bowl, razor, sewing kit and a water strainer.

Though the site below adds a belt and two extra robes.

Theravada or Maharana (or one of Maharana's further off-shoots)?

If its Theravada you're talking about, and if you are talking about physical, earthly possessions... then technically they are allowed to own a lot more than five but rather discouraged from having any of them when it comes down to it. Afterall, the key point is to give up all connections to transient, earthly matters.
Of course one could get abstract and define other things as "possessions" (however many s's you like), but that would only make for an awkwardly vague question.

I am guessing though that you haven't asked the question you meant to ask... hmm?

Their robes, their begging bowl... argha... can't remember... check out the Vinaya in which I'm sure it's mentioned, since it's supposed to govern the behavior of monastics. Sorry, as a layperson I don't pay much attention.
