i have two children with ADD and have been to enough doctors and reaseached enough info to make my own library. I would like you be very well aware that ADD and ADHD are NOT the same thing. you must be working with a wonderful "expert" if thats you were told that they were the same.

My nephew lives with me and he normal except he has ADHD at 6 years old (he's not slow, disabled or anything like that, just hyper (that has nothing to do with ADHD)).
First off ADD and ADHD are NOT the same thing, you need to do a little research and find a new doctor. I was the one to take him to the doctor so am pretty well in the game on this and not just taking a wild guess. They tried numerous medicines before they found one that will work and it is a medicine still being tested. We also had to make a daily routine so he knows exactly what and when he is supposed to be doing it. So he is now on his medicine and his routine. The doctor also told us to make sure he got plenty or sleep, so he is in the bed by 8 and gets up at 7. This is all we have to do for him, some kids are worse others aren't as bad as he is.
Just try different things to figure out what is best for the child.

Parents are THE foundation in raising kids with special needs. It is important to provide structure at home and realize that they have the potential to learn, grow, and become responsible for making better choices. Depending on the need of the child, parents and teachers should try to gauge how to accept a kid's limitations without compromising their potential.

just know this there is know such thing as add or addhard dadfoehge. its all crap get the whip out and straighten that boy out if he acts up use a strap . if he fails to sit still then use crazy glue and stick him to the seat. this is the reall cure for the child . either that or take him to a priest and have the demons driven out of him . dont buy into this modern day crap that is there to sell you things . if the boy fails at school he will fail at life . simple so dont count on a nice retirement you will have to spend most of your money on this man .
you could give him up or send him off to live in the far north tell him its a fly in fishing trip and leave him there.
this is what i think and this is america where there is not freedom of speech why because you will complain. instead of excepting fact. spare the rod spoil the child.

Sorry, I have a son with ADD and I get all the info and help I need for free from his doctor, counselor, library, other parents. One shouldn't have to pay for this kind of info. You are taking advantage of people who really need the help. if you cared about children at all you would offer this info for free.
