The Army is ordering injured troops to go to Iraq
At Fort Benning, soldiers who were classified as medically unfit to fight are now being sent to war. Is this an isolated incident or a trend?

By Benjamin

March 11, 2007 | COLUMBUS, Ga. -- "This is not right," said Master Sgt. Ronald Jenkins, who has been ordered to Iraq even though he has a spine problem that doctors say would be damaged further by heavy Army protective gear. "This whole thing is about taking care of soldiers," he said angrily. "If you are fit to fight you are fit to fight. If you are not fit to fight, then you are not fit to fight."

As the military scrambles to pour more soldiers into Iraq, a unit of the Army's 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Benning, Ga., is deploying troops who are still injured. Bush stated the troops are fit to fight and trust the military doctors.

I am in the 10th Mtn. Div. and it is happening here to. The army is so stretched out right now they are sending many soldiers over that should not be sent. You see, if commanders don't have enough soldiers to deploy then its their *** that is in a sling. They will send them over to meet their numbers and let them get a little more hurt then send them back. Great use of tax dollars huh.
What people don't realize is that all it takes is a phone call from a field grade officer and all the sudden your are deployable. Some people that have answered this question have no idea, their not in the service now. I have seen it happen first hand, especially in the past year.

A lot of soldiers voluntarily go back to battle after an injury, I know amarine who had a prosthetic leg that went back to active duty. Amazing really. I am sure some soldiers are hurt but not bad enough to not be able to fight, and maybe theres a few SNAFU's in there where someone who should have been put back in but your expected to complete your contract unless your hurt os badly that the contract can be broken. If you joined for the right reasons you will have no problem doing this.

I don't know if i believe that bit of propaganda.
I don't know how it is in the Army, but i am a female in the Marine Corps and we refuse to send anyone over that might get one of his fellow Marines killed, and that included those that are sick or injured. I know many Marines that have been injured be it either in Iraq or just here at home and there are many that WANT to go back, but because of Med Boards and such they can't.
As for the MSGT that has a "problem" with his back.... I seriously think this is a ploy. He probably didn't want to go so started this story and well now we talk about it.

For the same reason they sent them there to begin with. What makes you think that there is any good reason for them to be there to begin with? Other than to inflate the cost of oil. the price of gold and the abundant supply of heroin in the world market today. Wonder who makes all the money from these net results? And don"t forget all the money that is being made in the conducting of the war itself. Soldiers are the most expendable commodity and the least expensive in the formula. I hate to say it.

Injured troops will get sent to meet numbers

BUT

They will not fight, they will work office jobs and any other support positions they can fill. If they do get sent out to patrol, that soldier's SGT or CO is a piece of work.

Most of us, that did not know already from the beginning, are figuring out that George Bush and Admin do not care for the safety or security of the men and women in the military. They knew what they were getting into when the signed up - didn't they?

Sorry,

Not a shred of belief here.

The Army SRP evaluates and eliminates any Soldier with a P3 and even P2 profiles from deployment status. Soldiers with the posted ailment would be deemed as Non-deployable.

Second problem here is the sites that are displaying the information. freerepublic.com, clipmarks.com, salon.com and many more liberal bias sites and blogs.

The information is unfounded and presuming, period.

I am going to say isolated incident. Why? Because my cousin is a Marine and got injured in Iraq. He wants to go back, but they won't send him yet, even though he is done with his physical therapy.

Don't know, but we all know you could care less and hate the military.
