Again, the ignorant Latinos are spouting their Continent confusion nonsense again. United States of America is the NAME of the country, not the geographical description. It is like the former USSR and United Arab Emirates. It is a name that has more than one word. Maybe that is difficult for some to grasp, but think about Mexico, the name is United States of Mexico. See? It is not that difficult. Geez, how can some people be so stupid as to think the country does not have a real name.

Well not yet and Lord willing never but your question highlights some serious issue we're dealing with in America, particularly in the South West United States. I'm from Arizona where it is not uncommon for someone to joke that they are from Northern Mexico. I think it's way past time for our political leadership to tell Mexico where to put it and put an end to the State sponsored Mexican invasion that is taking place. America is being diluted and no one seems to be doing anything about it.

Actually I do think it needs to get renamed. America is an awful name, and isn't the technical name. It's more the name for the general continent(North America). I actually usually refuse to call the USA America because I think of both North, Central and South America.

Also United States Of America is a description of the United States and where they are. If it is a country it should have a name to describe it as such. Other countries have it(Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Brazil, China, Japan, England, etc).

I think it's old enough to have a distinguishing name by now.
