Ok...so last nite I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't breathe. In my 1/2 asleep state, thought that it was my allergies kicking back in and started to get up to take some claritin. As I started to get out of bed, realized it was hard to get out of bed...then realized that my b/f had his hand covering my mouth and nose and was pushing me down into my pillow.
I managed to shove him away...and slept on the couch the rest of the night. When I confronted him about it this morning, he was crying and telling me that he would "never hurt me intentionally". There is no abuse at work here, he doesn't hit me, and if he ever did I would knock him on his @$$, but just wondering if you think there is something subliminial working here. Any advice?
This really scared the crap out of me and I have told him he is not to come back over to my place until I say he can.

Whoa that a show stopper right there. I would not let that guy anywhere near you while you are sleeping. Even worse if it's going on in his sleep then he has no control over it.

You have every right to be scared. Ask him to make an appointment and talk to someone about what happened so he can get to the reason why it happened. In the meantime, sleep in the other room - or some place else - next time you may not wake up. If he really loves you (and would never intentionally hurt you), he'll want to get help before that happens.

Sounds like the dude was sleepwalking or something, I seen on tv how stuff like that could happen without the person even knowing it, maybe he woke up and realized what he was doing. Would've scared me too.

OK Then why are you still talking to a guy who tried to kill you in your sleep? Here's my advice find out if he is bi-polar or something because there is no reason to have a pillow over your head when your sleeping! Your right about one thing it doesn't look like abuse it looks like attempted murder.

Wow! That would scare me to. If I were you, you and your boyfriend should go see a therapist or something. I'm sure that they will be of the most help. Good luck!

Are you serious? He was holding his hand over your mouth and he tells you (with crocodile tears in his eyes) that he would never intentionally hurt you? Well if holding his hand over you mouth isn't intentional, I don't know what the hell is.

Get out now. He has something serious going on in there. Let him go and find a guy that will make you feel safe in his arms, not afraid

As long as it scared him too, then you know that it was an accident.
You should do some research on this on the internet with sleep studies.

Good Luck!
