"VIN" stands for "Vulvar Intraepithelial Neoplasia". VIN is not quite cancer, but it's a pre-cancerous stage that may eventually lead to cancer. VIN is classified into 3 stages, with VIN3 being the most serious. VIN3 is also called "carcinoma in situ", since the cells are similar to cancer cells but have not invaded through the layers of supporting cells yet.

I would think it means you are at stage three of several stages of cancer. Ask your doc, that's why they are there for you to help you understand what is going on in your body, and your own special situation, everybody's situation is not the same and oftentimes treated differently. If you call the office, they might give you the info over the phone, I did that when they had number after the word diagnosis, I wanted to know if it was some secret or something he didn't want me to know, I was so wrong, it was coding for the things we talked about, very simple and direct, try it.
