Several people answered my question about what actions help build trust between people (click to review http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AiGlbsjzs4_VmOcbc4_AFYfsy6IX?qid=20070312112006AAOYZw6 ).

Given the criteria cited, what has God done to help build trust or break trust between God and Human Beings?

Good Q?

I think you will get allot of "he sent his only son" answers. But in reality I am not sure he has done much of anything. Why send your only Son to die for everyone's sin, and then cloak it all in mystery? It seams there has been a tremendous disservice done to mankind if the Bible stories are all true. Why wouldn't God show himself and prove his existence in order to save millions of people from hell. Especially after sending his son to die in order for it to be possible. Mean.

God makes promises/covenants with His children. He is bound when we hold up our end of it. When we don't, He is not bound to do what He said. Sometimes people forget that and blame God or accuse Him of not doing what He said He would do. That's why IMO people see the God of the OT as VERY different than the God of the NT.
So what has God done to help build trust? He created this world, He gave us all that is in the world - the flowers, the birds, the trees, all of nature, as well as the ability to grow food, enough and to spare. All in an effort to help us flourish here. He also sent His Son to atone for our sins so through Him we might return to our Father in Heaven. Without Christ, we wouldn't stand a snowballs chance of returning to our Heavenly Father.
He's done a lot more, but those are the biggies, to me.

He has never ever ever let me down. When I am in need, He always provides whatever it is that I need. Someone once said "whatever God orders, He pays for."

So, in my life, one example is that He asked me to go to this particular school, and I had no money. Out of nowhere my mom received $7000 that she had no clue she was getting. It arrived just in time for me to go to the school (which cost 5000) That meant I was even able to make my car payment while I was gone, because I didn't have time to work.

Tornados, hurricanes, tsunamis, earth quakes, disease, wildfires. Use commen sense, Christians. It's not "God's will" - that's a stubborn cop-out.
