i was listening last night as to how the united states has deserted the very people in iraq who helped our military as translators. now the sunni insurgergents are tracking these people down, and executing them for helping the united states! this will look very bad for us, the next time we need help from anynoe in the world! what hypocrites the military brass, and government is! no wonder the iraqi people hate us now!

Of course we should have. We should bring them and their families over here in my opinion...after a certain amount of time serving the US military. These guys risk more for America than those at home driving their SUVs, drinking their lattes. When my bf was Iraq he had this great translator, really nice guy he said. He also helped in doing some low level surveillance and helped his unit in a big way. Well, you can guess what happened to him...it wasn't pretty. These translators should be given extra protection because they sure give our troops a lot of protection.

Absolutely. Their lives are no less important than ours.

Bringing this up the troops should have been trained in understanding the Iraqi culture and some of the common Arabic words and expressions used in Iraq. I don't know if they're doing that now but they didn't when the war began and I think that really hurts us.

Simply to say ,the US government is so slow in helping those people who simply put themselves in a risk for the USA to rebuild IRAQ . I'm aware closely of their suffering .Read what Senator Kennedy said in NY Times .He said that the applications reached the coming 7 years in what consider the Immigration visas for translators .
