"One might be asked "How can you prove that a god does not exist?" One can only reply that it is scarcely necessary to disprove what has never been proved." - David A. Spitz

The bible is just a myth like any other religious book (like Zeus, Beowulf, Sedna, Ramayana)... it was created to have structure and morals about people...i guess you could call it a book or rules, but they are told in stories so they can hit you personally and you can feel like you can relate to the characters. There are over 2000 versions of the bible and allot of them contradict each other. People should not take the bible so seriously, because it is just a collection of myths that relate to christian religion. Just look at other dead religions...they all believed that they were truth at one time...like native American ancient religions... but it turned out that it wasn't real enough for it to continue to survive. There will never be physical evidence...just peoples undying faith in Christ and god. Maybe someday people can just be happy with living and just having good morals because its right and not because they might go to hell...man will they be surprised when they die and they are well....just dead.

Could you just take a minute and listen to yourself. Sorry to say but your life sounds like one without a meaning, without a purpose and without an end. Before I continue, never should you write God and Jesus in small letters again plz.
First of all the BIBLE is not a fairy tale book aka as you kept it in your words it gives life to any one who opens and reads it, I am not saying this because I think so but I know so because I have taken time to read with all of my heart I if you truly do so with your heart opened you would understand what I mean and cut this argument if God exist and don't see the Bible as just a novel or a novel or a story book it is way more than that it ministers to your soul.
Have you ever wondered how this world came to being? Do you believe in the so called big bang theory because I don't even though I am a science student OR Do you believe you evolved from pre-existing life forms because I don't.
I believe and know that I was created by God almighty who created the heavens and the earth and everything in it. God created in his own image and likeness which makes man the most superior being here on earth. It annoys me when scientists fall so low to believe that they evolved from lower organisms.
All I am saying is that though there is no scientific evidence because God is not something physical or material, you can't see him but you can feel his presence. The answer to your question will only come from your heart. Read the Bible with your heart and you would truly know he exist.

Atheists tend to see their viewpoint as the only logical choice because they have fallen victim to constraints of science which only deals with the physical world and that which can be proved by available technology through the use of the scientific method.

Unfortunately, because science is limited in this way, it is unable to analyze metaphysical phenomena which may include the existence of God, the human soul and spirit, faith and other such concepts exclusive to religions and belief systems.

The very fact that science is unable to measure these things, may be reason enough to exclude science as a means by which anyone should rule out any religion or belief system. In short, atheists who use science as a defense for their lack of religion, or as a means to attack religion, do not understand the limited nature in which science can be applied.

Ideas about belief systems are studied under the heading of philosophy, a general rule of which is that if it cannot be logically ruled out, it should be considered a viable possibility. Anyone who rules out viable possibilities due to a lack of evidence is a close-minded fool.

Truth is true without qualification. Before there was enough proof, people of this world used to think that the sun revolved around the earth. Despite this common belief, the truth was that the earth revolved around the sun and always had.

In other words, keep an open mind until you know, one way or the other.

Many's direct personal experience proves God to themselves.

As for scientific proof...that only exists for what you can get a ruler around. There is no scale or tape meaure that you can get around God. Not so long ago, the idea of germs, radiation, etc. were considered fairy tales. Right, something I can't see can harm me? What a joke!

It took science a long time to prove it. Germs and radiation existed since humanity started - but it is a recent discovery. A couple centuries ago, you would have been one of those people saying "if germs/radiation exists, where is all the scientific proof of its existence."

how about the book that you call a fairy tale has never beeen proved wrong? There are many universities that would give millions of dollars away just to have one person disprove the bible. They have offered it for many years. And you know what no one has ever been able to recieve that money. Hundreds of them have look and coincidentally they all have because believers in the bible. Interesting huh? but im sorry for bothering you with my trifling explanation but i had to write it even if ur not going to listen to a word i say.
may GOD bless you and everyone you love!

Maybe before you ask you should at least TRY and look up some facts instead of making up your own "Facts"

Arguments for and against the existence of God have been proposed by philosophers, theologians, and other thinkers. In philosophical terminology, existence of God arguments concern schools of thought on the epistemology of the ontology of God. The debate concerning the existence of God raises many philosophical issues. A basic problem is that there is no universally accepted definition of God. Some definitions of God's existence are so non-specific that it is certain that something exists that meets the definition; in stark contrast, there are suggestions that other definitions are self-contradictory. Arguments for the existence of God typically include metaphysical, empirical, inductive, and subjective types. Arguments against the existence of God typically include empirical, deductive, and inductive types. Viewpoints represented include atheism, either no belief in God or the view that God does not exist; theism, the view that God exists; and agnosticism, the view that whether or not God exists is unknown or unknowable...........

I got the evidence from astonomy, and simple logic.

probability also plays a factor. it's much more plausible that an ordered universe came from an ordered being than an ordered universe came from disarray. Besides, Bing Bang is flawed (nothing comes from nothing).

logic dictates that our universe had a 1 in 5x10 to the power of 123 (I got this statistic from an astronomy book) of existing, which is pretty unlikely, don't you think? also, the existance of unique "matter" comprising not of protons neutrons and electrons that doesn't respond to radiation and has different ratios of gravitational and electromagnetic forces helps hold our galaxies together.

other things include the decaying electromagnetic field which they assume keeps a constant rate of decay. If this is so, then the earth would have been uninhabitable when the alledged ameoba formed. If this is false, then scientists are prone to err, so why should i believe them?

rate of explosion vs rate of collapse (slightly smaller or larger singularity and the Bing Bang could not have even had a chance of occuring).

accuracies in Biblical statements about meteorology, astronomy, socially and earth science that even modern atheist scientists aknowledge in their theories....

Excellent question David, I too have never been presented with any evidence of God, Heavens etc, like you I was forced to attend religious assembly in the UK and also to have regular lessons each week called, religious instruction. I feel angry that I never had a choice to listen to the other side, Evolution, it cost me too many years of my life believing the wrong thing. Best wishes.

Fictitious: the earth is round. No? then explain this: Jesus said that at his second coming, which would occur in an instant, some people will be doing duties that are performed in the morning, others would be doing duties in the afternoon, and others would be sleeping during the night. In others words, it would be a different time for each of these people. In othe words, the earth is round. is this fiction? Back then it was for most people, but not for Jesus.

every body can't be wrong.even those who do not beleive in god acknowledge the fact that jesus did exist.whether he was the son of god is debatable.but he did exist.and was put to trial and killed this is all on record.as the romans did keep records.look it up.even our calender is based on his life before death and after death.in any case jesus was a real man.as for god himself,i hate to tell you this but it works.try saying something really nasty to him or about him.then pay attention you will be punished almost immediately.no one can show you you must have a one on one with your creator.lots of luck.
