a church is just a meeting place where people go to celebrate the Lord. a community of followers can celebrate anywhere, no building necessary. the only real church is the church of Christ, made up of all people who believe in and follow Jesus, everywhere

No. There is no value in the building in and of itself, but what fills the building.
A church is a group of believers basically. Can meet in each others homes and other places, etc.
I prefer to say that I am a believer in Christ Jesus currently attending a pentecostal church. I don't have a denominational preference. I've been to Baptist, Methodist, Catholic, Presbyterian churches throughout my walk.

Some denominations do place emphasis on the building---which might be a representation of the "temple" to some, BUT the building is not "sacred" to me, but the "body."
The building is a place of worship, gathering, and of fellowship.
Christians are all members of the "body of Christ," so whether we are in a "building" or not, we are to fellowship with each other, love each other, and care for each other's needs.

A church is the people in it, not the building...all people...even you...are sacred. I am a United Methodist.

It's just a building, but since it is the place we worship God it needs to be treated with respect, especially in the sanctuary.
The church is actually the believers and can meet anywhere for "church".

A Methodist church is treated as God's house, but in itself
it is a building.
