Yes there is, OpenOffice a an office suite that is used widely amongst the Linux community. It is also available for Windows. It if absolutely free and is compatible with Word and Wordperfect files. Considering the price tag (Free), it is an amazing piece of software. If you have used Word before, it may take some time get used the location of some of the buttons or menus, but feature-wise, it is very similar. I strongly recommend you start using it, as it will show MS that charging $200 for a word processor just isn't going to cut it. It also comes with a spreadsheet program, presentation program, database program, and other stuff. It is a full office suite. http://www.openoffice.org/
