Last night my 6 month old kitten, wouldn't stop meowing at my bedroom door. It started at 2 am, and when I let her in, she was acting really weird, and was meowing really loud, even though she was on the bed. Then I let her out, and she continued, and I bearly got any sleep. My other cat which if 4 years old, didn't make a sound or seem affected. Weird? Has this happened to anybody else. Should I be worried that it's something else?

By the way, she never acts like that at all. Even if they are not asleep they never disturb me overnight. So that is why I am concerned. Thank You.

Well, is recently spayed. about a month now, so I don't think she's in heat.

Thank You EVERYBODY who tried to answer my question. I guess I'll never know why she was acting psycho that night. She'a back to normal now, but all I can say is, cats, are very weird creatures, and I wish they could just talk and tell us how thay feel. Thank you all.

Cats are party animals--at night!

It's up to you how much of this you want to sign up for. If you need your sleep, the kitty will have to party alone.

Daylight savings time seems to effect cats only in that it changes their eating times, they are off by an hour and it can take a short while for them to get readjusted to that change.
As far as your 6 month old. Well, it is at a growth stage, so it could be anything, but it doesn't have to do with the time change. Your cat is changing all the time, it's like a child, and it is moving from being a kitten into cat phase. So maybe she just needs more attention, always at bad timing.
But, if you are worried it never hurts to take the cat to the vet. No question is too silly for a vet. this is your child, take care of it.

The cats could care less about day light savings however, cats are VERY routine animals, if 1 am is the time she normally goes into you room, thats the time she is going to naturally go, even if the time change has set the clocks at 2. Who knows? maybe she was just confused, did you change your actions? go to bed earlier? Cats don't really like changes in their so called "schedual." She will adjust dont worry!

no, i don't think the time change had anything to do with it... when my cat acted out at night or tried to get all affectionate i would just grab her and hold her by her harness and scratch her head until she calmed down. u could try that. and with the time change, my cat is probably wondering why we're feeding her earlier. i know when we changed the clocks for fall she was going around the house meowing and following everyone because she thought it was dinnertime. =) she got used to it, eventually. oh, and just be glad that your cat only meows at your door. mine knows how to open it! good luck!

The only thing that would affect them with the time change is your daytime routine. And since it's only an hour I don't think that would be it. It could have been numerous things... she may have smelled a mouse. She may have had an upset stomach. My cats act that same way if their food dish is empty, and at just about the same ungodly hour, too.

No need to worry
your 6 month kitten has probably come in to heat
she'll be fine, although she will keep u awake in her persistent crying
this can be fixed by having her spayed (which helps control the pet population and allows you to sleep)

Daylight savings time had nothing to do with it. What a clock says is the least of a cat's worries.

no longer the place I stay (Saskatchewan). we've in no way subscribed to sunlight savings time. the only distinction right this is that I ought to observe worldwide national out of Toronto at 3:30 particularly of four:30 now. My animals are completely unaffected.

my cat is even WORSE! some nights she runs around the whole room, climbs the windows (which she knows i hate) then runs under the bed and scratches @ the padding. after i scream at her she rests until i go back to sleep then starts all over again but then goes in the trash and drops stuff just to piss me off. idk i think its just a cat thing.
