I need to file my income tax and I am currently seperated from my husband but are still married and also he does not have a social security number i am not sure how to file my taxes either single or filing seperate.

You should contact the IRS there is a number in the handbook you get from the post office. If you make a mistake it really sucks. They are really helpfull i did the same thing when i was seperated before the divorce.

If he had no income then file married filing seperately unless you have kids then you file as head of household. Just send in your information, he is responsible for anything for himself.

If you were still legally married during the taxable year, you may file jointly. If the divorce was final before the taxable year you file separately. If your (ex)husband ever worked, he must have a SS#.

I would file married but seperatley. That way, you'll still get more taxes back then if you filed single.

And by the way, Tom W (first answerer), he could be a legal resident alien...or on a work visa. No need to assume he's illegal.

You'd file as married filing separately.

You can file as married ( which you are ) but separately. And change your address to where you are now so you get your return.

If you are five years old you have a social security number. So I guess this is not a legal resident.
