I know what one is. But, I have to do a report for my class and I need to have 3 references. The problem is I can't find anything in our online databases. So, I was wondering if anyone knew of any resources I can use. I can find magazine and journal articles on specific houses. But, I need general info and reliable sources.

A halfway house is usually a group home for persons that have just gotten out of prison. They could be drug addicts, recovering alcoholics...or persons that are thought to need more supervision and acclamation before entering back into society. They live at the house and are monitored, they have curfews and live under supervision..Usually for 6 months to a year after leaving prison. To get information and maybe a tour, call your local probation and parole department and tell them what you are looking for, they may be able to help you.

If you need reliable sources that can tell you about half-way houses why don't you take a stroll out in your local ghetto and ask a random crack head about them. Im sure he or she will be happy to oblige for a couple of bucks. Heck for a five spot they might even show you the one they happen to be shacked up in for the time being.

When searching on the web for half-way house, use a different name, like mentally impaired institution, homes for wayward children, homes for prison release, etc.... you should then get general info and plenty of sources.
