Hi there,
I have a tendancy to pass out at times, nearly did last night, i hate it because it's scary and embarressing...did you consult your doctor about passing out today? Just to ensure everything is ok. No one is going to ignore you, i know that usually there is nothing anyone can do when you pass out except wait for you to come around again but just incase you ht your head whilst falling it would be a good idea for someone to check your ok and be with you at those times. It's really nothing to be embarressed about. I think that it just shows people care about you, if it was the other way around would you not be worried and make sure the person was ok? No one likes the fuss but see it as a compliment...people care:) hope your ok. Best wishes!

i fainted on my first day of work coz it was stupidly hot, I hadnt eaten or drunk anything out of nerves and I was terrified (first job). When I came too my boss asked if I had any medical problems and I said no etc, but because of hot weather I found myself doing a couple of times again over the next few months(not actually fainting however). At one point he got really forcefull with me and practically ordered me to the doctors. I'd already been once and so went again, and the doctor said plenty of fluids etc.
It's not the same problem as you have, but I can usually tell when I'm gonna go so I call someone over to the till and go sit somewhere quite and get a drink. Just make sure Everyone knows that you have a problem, that you're being treated and not to panic if you do faint. Let them know how to help (knees raised etc) and make sure they know what to do if something goes wrong (you dont wake up for such a length of time).
I wouldnt have had a clue what to do if someone fainted in front of me until it happened and, lluckily, the person I was with at the time had a brother who fainted alot.

I had the same problem as a teenager, except it was due to low-blood pressure. You cannot expect people to step over you. If your meds are not controlling the problem, check back with your doctor. You could get really hurt fainting depending on where you are when it happens and how you fall. I agree, it is embarrassing.

I don't have a condition like that but i know what your going through, i was abit like that before, except ihad this rash up my thigh, cos a boy like licked me there, but it gradually made my legs go all funny then i would collapses for some reason, but if you just keep at the medication, try not to go in alley ways, you might pass out and no one might find you.

My sister has the same problem. She has cataplexy which causes her entire body to become completely paralysed, she will drop to the floor as if she were dead, but she can still hear and see everything, she just can't communicate. Other people don't understand it, and your workmates are probably the same. Irrespective of how you want to be treated, they're not really likely to step over you and get on with things, are they? Would you if the situation was reversed? Just count your blessing you work with people who care, and put up with it!

Well, I occasionally get vaso-vagal faints, but I definitely don't want to be ignored when it happens and neither should you.
Mine isn't a heart problem, but yours is, and meds or no meds you could potentially deteriorate to something more serious (such as fibrillation). Forget the embarrassment and accept help and concern.

I got food poisoning at work once and almost passed out, so I can relate to the embarassing part. However, I don't think you can reasonably expect people to just walk over you--not the people who care at all anyway!

I would think your medication is not working properly. My strong advice is that you see your Doctor as an emergency because your heart rhythm is well out of sync. and ther next time might be worse. You should not be at work with this condition.

I certainly wouldn't tell people to ignore and step over me!
They need to be sure that you are breathing, and you don't need medical assistance!
It only takes one instance when someone DOESN'T stop and check on you that you could lead to your demise!!!
Please educate them on what to do in case you are not breathing - I'll rest easier knowing you are being cared for!
Blessings!
