Is it that easy for a girl to hide her true feelings or pretend? My ex and I were together for five years, we've been apart for one year now. But we are still friends, see each other, go out, and sometimes we do our thing. I love her to death, and I've being waiting patiently for her to make up her mind. She says she wants to be alone, and doesnt want commitment. But still she says she likes to do everything with me, and being with me. Do you girls think she hides her true feelings? Is it that easy for a girl to pretend to be strong, that she doesnt care? Then small little things show the opposite. Im confused with her pride and selfishness.... Help ladies....

Well it's not easy at all but some manage to pretend so well that you cannot really tel what's going' on in her mind.But if you love her and you have told her so I think if she loved you back she'd let you know.We hide our feelings when we don't want to get hurt or regected...so....

It's as easy for women to pretend as it is for guys. You say that you've waited patiently for her to make up her mind yet she has already told you that she wants to be alone and doesn't want a commitment. Is it that hard to understand? Perhaps you are reading into things too much and seeing "small things that show the opposite" because that's what you want to see and believe. By telling you she doesn't want a relationship she isn't being selfish, she's being honest. Time for a reality check.

it all depends on the girl and the whole situation and what not lol....i'd look for other signs about how she hides her feelings about other ppl around you (even like if you would go to a family thing of hers and she rlly kind and sweet to someone you know she dislikes then she if you pick up the same vibe from her)
and also, if shes like me and she's afraid of commitement, it may not be the relationship but the label of the relationship becuase thats how i am....i have no prob being in a relationship its just the label (of course its the lovely high school label lol)...but if you were together for five years i betting her commitement issues may be more along the lines of being loyal, and if thats the case get out, because she'll never change (just try to find out her issues with comitement)

Personally I think she is using you for a good ride when she needs to because you are always there, your easy access.
She knows your ALWAYS going to be there. You need to pull the anchor! Tell her your washing your hands of her because your wasting your time.
Tell her your sick of her being so selfish, because you know what there are a lot of other women out there that would show you the same kind of love that you are trying to show her, that she definately doesnt return to you...

If I were you I would suspend contact with her. That would help her to make up her mind just how much she cares for you. A woman wouldnt put up with this behavior from a man and a man shouldnt put up with a woman who is a "committment - 0 - phobe". Five years is a long time for her NOT to desire a committment.

well let me tell you this...maybe she does want to be alone, but probably b/c she doesn't want to deal with the drama that comes with being in a relationship. and since she knows what its like being in a relationship with you, she probably doesn't want go there specifically, b/c she knows what to expect already. technically, you are being used since she doesn't want to committ to you. sorry to tell you, but its true. so, now its up to you to decide what you wanna do. if you told her you were moving on completely, then she might come running back then b/c she doesn't wanna let you go. thats how it is. human nature.

1) It is easy for them to pretend
2) Why give up the free lifestyle when she can just run to you and get whatever kind of validation she needs as she needs it?

Girls are very fickle they usually don't know what they want, i have came to this conclusion. Not all girls are fickle though. I'm brave enough to say a majority of them are *ducks head under pillows for protection*

actions speak the truth much louder than words.
people can say whatever, make any words come from their mouths.
you can usually trust people's actions, tho.
