Do you think that gay people shouldn't be able to be in the army or any other service for the country such as the marines, and ect.

I think that people shouldn't deny people who are actualy willing to serve for our country just cuz they're gay. Because there are tons of straight people who aren't even willing to die for our country but there are a bunch of gay people willing to yet they deny them.

What do you think? Are they right for doing that?

Because for every gay person recruited - you will lose more potential recruits and NCOs.

How would you like it if you were in the military and forced to take a shower with your male counterparts. Well the male soldiers would fee the same way about being forced to take a shower with a homosexual.

Anybody ever notice that the people who most strongly support gays in the military are the people least likely to serve?

No one has a problem with gay people fighting for our country, the army is looking for any good men who are willing to take the task of defending freedom and the homeland. However, while in the past there was the "dont ask, don't tell" policy, meaning what you do is your business just dont make it a big deal and keep everything professional, whereas now they can openly enlist flambouyant individuals and are basicly giving them more rights than the regular enlisted man. What we need is equality, if your buddy is being a dick and you punch him than its no big deal, if he is gay now and hes a dick and you punch him it s federal offense and a hate crime. Crazyness.

In the military I have worked with more homosexuals than I have in my civilian jobs. Always been there, always will. Who cares? Pretty rare nowadays that anyone gets kicked out for homosexuality. Usually it is someone who wants out and goes to the command and confesses it.

In my opinion military service is a civic responsibility not a privelage. I think everyone should contribute.

I think your point is right-on. If someone wants to proudly serve the country in the military, why deny them?

Why would you EVER turn down a capable person who says "I'm here and I'm ready to fight for my country"?

honestly, i don't care. As long as they do their duty well and they don't mix work with pleasure, im cool with it. you're right, people shouldnt deny anyone who are willing to serve the country.
