Are you referring to the Freemasons and Templars or both?

EDIT: We are in some of the end times, there will be many false beliefs or organizations that are so-called secret. Some have existed for thousands of years, already.

Many books can be found over the Amazon internet or your local religious book store on these so-called secret organizations.

Secret society of Satan? The Church of Satan (founded by Lavey, the guy in my pic) was the first organization to publicy encourage Satanism (lawfully, mind). If you're talking about the Illuminiti, or the freemasons, I can't tell you... it's a secret!

No, they remain secret because they don't talk about it. As soon as they talk about their secret society, even if it is just one person to one other person, it is no longer secret.

The best secret society is one in which none of the members know that it is secret or a society, and nobody else does either.

Generally, anything in life that is kept a secret is something that is foul and would be not accepted by society.
If there is nothing to hide, there is no reason for secrecy.

Organisations like - for instance - the early churches who feared for their lives ?

I have never known satanists to be a self-effacing private bunch. They tend to be very public.
