So last night I asked my wife about putting her feminine energy into some silver, or some crystals. I wanted her to do that so I could have her energy to boost mine, since I am male. She told me no, she said cause she and I are soul mates that her energy already flows into me.
That the intention is all that matters, she contends.

Do you believe this to be true? That intentions are important more so than crystals or other objects made out of matter, since what's important is the intention of the energy?

Okay, there's a difference between femininine and masculine, and male and female. Masculine = strong, aggressive, active. Feminine = passive, receptive *However*--men can be feminine, and women can be masculine. In fact, we all have masculine and feminine energies within us--it's just that culturally we're conditioned to limit ourselves.

As to intent--intent is more important than physical items. Crystals and other tools are just that--tools. You can work magic completely empty handed. For example, if you wanted to increase your ability to work with feminine energy, you might spend time meditating on the parts of yourself that are passive and receptive, and working with traditionally "feminine" symbols and entities. You don't have to crossdress--you're not becoming *female*--just accessing the parts of you that are traditionally associated with feminine energies (receptive/passive).

Actually, "masculine" and "feminine" are bad words all around, because they stereotype men and women, and assume that all women are receptive/passive and all men are active/aggressive. I am biologically female, but as a person I tend to be more active/aggressive--I am not particularly feminine in any manner.

Magic--and in fact reality--are shaped largely by our perceptions and thoughts. If you believe that you can only access "{feminine" energy through your wife and not yourself, then you're going to have issues accessing that which is within that is receptive/passive.

Well I believe you can charge a object with energy, that's how amulets and talismans are made. Holding the object in your hand and focusing your intention into it. It wouldn't matter what gender the other person is if the intention was to give you an energy boost.

I'm sorry, I'm not much of an New Ager and I'm not much into crystals and such like. So you will probably get a better answer from someone else. But it is a good question.

Your wife is absolutely correct in that your "intentions are everything"! I find it interesting that you think that you don't already have feminine energy as a male. We all have both sides to our "selves". All you need to do is to connect with your feminine energy. If you can find it in yourself, then it is always with you.

The nature of feminine energy is to be receptive, open and gentle. Awareness of this energy can be achieved through the practice of "doing" nothing. Let things come to you, find your power through the willingness to sit and "allow" whatever happens. A male's energy comes from doing, so "not doing" would bring you in touch with your feminine energy.

The secret that women possess, is their unending ability to recognize that all we understand, or "get", is the intention with which we act or speak. How many times have you heard your wife say, "It's not what you said, but how you said it!" Intention is the driving force of action which in turn creates your reality the way it is. If you want to change your life, change your intentions and watch the magic happen!

Good luck to you, my friend.

I'm none of the above, but I'll answer anyway since I have beliefs in this area.

I would agree that it's intentions that count, and that objects have little or no value (I probably differ from your target audience here though). No, scratch that. I still think intentions matter the most, although I do rather believe that objects can absorb energy, and objects used over and over could very well absorb those intentions......

I sound kind of wacky, don't I? This is my conflict; my left brain always trying to exert control over me.

Intentions - energy - indeed are what matters. Sometimes I use tools, a lot of times don't. Some people are comfortable working with objects - it can give you something tangable to work with. Nothing wrong with it at all. Plus they are nice to have around. Maybe you could charge an object to have around you when you are away from your wife.

I think she was right about the intention bit.

But the intention needs to be yours.

The energy flows through everything. We simply need to attune ourselves to this and draw on it as needed. Since the universe's energy is pretty much infinite, so too is the potential reserve you can draw upon. Of course, as a physical vessel, there are logically limits to how much energy your form can contain. And bottling up energy is not 'natural'. It is meant to flow.

Crystals are just a focus. It is an illusion to think the energy 'resides' in them. They merely help you attune yourself to the 'source'.

Maybe.

intention is important, but i don't understand why she didn't want to help you with this.

just because you're soul mates doesn't mean that you can't share energy. everyone has their own energy.
i call it "charging" when adding my energy to a stone or crystal. i would love for my husband to ask me to help him with something like that (won't happen since he isn't pagan).

i'm a firm believer in every little bit helps, so whatever you were doing she should have helped you.

Jim
if she is willingly sharing herself with you in every way , including feeling comfortable sharing her energy with you
then job done
however you may wish to intentionally make yourself more open to recieving it
it doesnt matter how open a person is with you , if you arent open to recieving
so if permission is given from her to share in this
just sit quiet in her presence , feel her energy in the room with you , blend ( i love that word )
the feeling is amazing when you truely open to each other
no need for silver or crystals , when you simply have each other
enjoy !

Since you and your wife presumably already are intimate, I suggest you are getting as much of her feminine energy as possible.

Why settle for a third vessel to hold this when you can enter in (literally) yourself.

Aside from your wife, you don't have the intimacy - at that point a container would be a suitable second option.
