I totally agree!! My son has a stuffed puppy that makes me want to cringe. Puppy goes everywhere JJ goes, he even sits next to the washer and dryer while Puppy gets a bath so that he can make sure that Puppy is ok. I have tried to replace it with a new puppy a hundred times, but he will not go for it. It is falling apart, and no matter how many times I wash it Puppy still looks like we just picked him up out of the garbage. So I completely feel your pain, damn stuffed animals!

Germs live everywhere and not all of them are bad. You have more bacteria in your body than you do cells. It is impossible and dangerous to get rid of all the germs in your life. Most of the bacteria that cause illnesses have a limited time in which they can survive outside of the body (or outside of a warm, moist environment). Few germ will actually live on a stuffed animal. Your kitchen sink is likely home to more germs than your daughter's carebear.
Even surface washable stuffed animals can be sprayed with Lysol.

I am not crazy about them either. They can also be a source for allergens. I usually just try to give them away as soon as they are not being played with as often as when they first got them. My husband has a stuffed animal form when he was a kid. Can you say disgusting. I can almost see the germs and bacteria crawling on it!

I hate them too. I almost rejoiced when my son's allergy specialist insisted that we get rid of all stuffed toys. They are full of dust mites which he is severely allergic too. Woohoo!
In our preschool classroom state regulations say No Stuffed Toys as well.
That is a sign they are gross! :) Take Care. SD

I agree, and unfortunately, they are the one thing EVERYONE wants to buy for a new baby...and I swear they breed!!!!
If my daughter's toys need a wash, they go in the washing machine...if they break, they break!

Yeah, me too. I think a lot of them are just full of dust mites and their turds.
