How are you gonna expect to find the answer to questions that you don't ask?

Course, you could hint around, oh, I am sure your girlfriend loves (fill in the blank) about you. He should let you know then, if he has one or not. If he still doesn't get the hint, maybe try asking how long he has been with her so far.
Oh, yeah! Last, but not least. If you don't ask him, do you really want ANOTHER girl to take YOUR man? Go for it, before some other lady does.

Ok if you dont ask him straight up you arent going to know.You need to be straight up.....any of his friends could tell you a lie....then it will make you look lame...Just say to him Hey I wanted to know you never mentioned having a girlfriend?do you have one? If you dont want to go that route just say something like Gee It sure is hard to find a decent person to date seriously now days....Im having a hard time with it...how about you?? dont you find it hard to date???

Ask him casual questions such as " how long have you and your GF been going out?" or what are you and your GF doing this weekend? Keep it not so obvious. Or say something like your Birthday is coming up and if you had to get your GF a gift what would you get her?

If he's interested in you that means that he wants YOU to be his girlfriend...regardless of what you find out about him. If you're not interested in being his girlfriend, just let it go.

its really a simple matter.if a guy has a girlfriend, his behavior towards another girl will totally different than others because he surely afraid that he will lose his girl if he move freely with other girl.
