if a patient has angina and faints in the dental chair why can't you lie them down?

I'm a dentist.

As I understand it, it's not an issue with the angina. It's the fact that people with angina may also be at risk for stroke. Strokes, as you know, can be caused by bleeds (hemmorhagic) or clots (ischemic). Laying someone supine who's having a hemmorhagic stroke causes even more bleeding in the head, which is precisely the opposite of what you want.

If you suspect a casualty is having an Angina Attack, they should be put in a comfortable sitting position.....preferably on the floor against a wall so there is no danger of them falling or causing themselves any further injuries. If they are carrying medication ,they should be helped to take it.If the pain persists ...dial 999 ...but stay with them until the paramedics arrive.

If someone has angina and faints then you should call 911.
Last time I checked, a dental chair is able to be reclined.

Patients tend to have more difficulty breathing laying down.

Its better to keep someone with angina pectoris in a tripod position so they try harder to remain conscious. A conscious patient is always better than an unconscious one.
