I would like to own two chihuahua's but I dont want my home to smell like dogs. Can anyone shine some light on this.

Yes, they smell like tacos--at least the one from the old Taco Bell commercials does.

I find that dogs that stay inside smell less than dogs who are outside a lot and chis smells less than some other indoor dogs. Even when they do pick up odor from outside, the smell seems to "fall" off them. I think I bathe mine about 3-4 months apart and have no problems with smell. My mom has a yorkie and the bathe her on average of one a week (their fur is "greasier" than a chis so that more stuff sticks to it).

As long as you give them baths every once in a while and teach them to go to the bathroom outside you will be fine. Also febreeze and the renueze it works great for pet odors. However I realy don't think that you will even need that they are small clean dogs.

because chihuaha's are so small and have short coats, they shouldn't have much of an odor at all. as long as you bathe them enough, and keep your house clean, there shouldn't be any odor. i would say though, if you are that concerned about your home smelling, a dog might not be the right pet for you.

I have five short hair chihuahuas, and have never had a problem with them smelling.

All dogs have some smell. Chi dogs smell like tacos. LOL

All dogs smell of "wet dog" if you don't bathe them. Wash your dog once a week with shampoo and you should be fine.

As long as u keep them clean then no. They're small so even if they did they wouldnt stink up ur house like a bigger dog would.

their fur doesnt smell but they have really bad breath. they have the worst breath out of all dog breeds. hope this helps!

nah they dont my mom had one a while ago theyre great dogs , nothing special though haha, they do shake alotttt and its funny
