I'd been using this file for a long time without problem, but recently it became kind of wierd when I try to copy and paste the forumla.

After I copy and paste, it did copy the forumla to the new box but instead of showing the result base on the forumla, it actually copied the "actual" number as well.

For example: I tried to copy cell T76 with a formula of "=F76*1.02041" and a result 13.99 to T77, i should show a new formula of "=T77*1.02041" and a result based on that formula.
But instead, it did show the formula of "=T77*1.02041", but the result would show 13.99.

Any body know how to fix this? Please help, thanks.

Sometimes a column that has been formatted as text will not revert back to a number format. Try to select the column, click Format, Cells. Choose a number format. Try to paste again.

If it still doesn't work, delete the column. Try to pate into the next column. If THAT still doesn't work, it means that the second column next to the one you deleted was also formatted as text and Excel isn't clearing it. Delete a few columns to make sure you get all the ones that may have been formatted as text.

When this happens, it's a hassle to fix.

Unnga, it seems you have launched two separate instances of Excel and you are trying to paste from one into the other.

When you try to copy and paste a formula, the cell numbers will still be for the previous blocks. If it's right below, then just drag the formula down, but if you need the formula at a different location, copy the formula, paste and type in the right cell numbers in the bar - that's how I've been doing it, and it works for me. Good luck.

Do a "paste special" instead of a normal "paste". You can find it in the edit menu right below the paste command. Choose "formulas" in the dialog box that appears, and the actual formula will paste over instead of the value.
