Oops, I forgot to add a "Trek" element to this question. Which of the original series regulars would you consider the most "spiritually lazy"?

Spiritually Lazy is a term used by Religious people to explain why many of us can't or never heard God speak. I was told that many times as a Christian. You just aren't listening hard enough.

It is the same as an Amway distributor saying that your not making money because you are not trying hard enough.

Spock was Spiritually lazy because without emotion religion is impossible.

To be spiritually lazy is to have a faith and not act on it.

If I were spiritually lazy, I would not be sitting at this screen 4-5 hours a day trying to fill each response with a little nugget of truth to help others.

If I were spiritually lazy I would not have a website with the Bible verses typed in by hand and commentary written on as many as I have had time to get to.

It is my goal, that before I die, or before He comes, that website has commentary on every chapter in the Bible.

A spiritually lazy person doesn't pray, can't be bothered to go to services, and in general, just doesn't care one way or another about their own religion. This is a very different thing from atheism, in which one has taken a definite stance to not believe in God. A spiritually lazy person straddles the fence, and won't commit one way or another. They don't read, don't ask questions, and in general, are apathetic and disinterested.

I would say that "spiritually lazy" would describe someone who has the exact, identical, unchanged beliefs today that he or she had 5 years ago. To me, being spiritually lazy is not allowing yourself to grow in understanding of any kind.

Can't answer the Trek part, though; I'm a TNG gal.

I don't know if I can add anything unique, but blindly accepting what is in front of you is spiritually lazy. You may decide to agree and structure your beliefs based on the majority, but do it because you questioned, researched and found your peace with that conclusion - not because it was the path of least resistance.

I think Spiritually Lazy means that you never question anything. You just accept it. In a sense brainwashing is spiritual laziness.

Whosoever is lazy in spiritual things is too busy in material things.

Luke 21:34 But take heed to yourselves, lest haply your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day come on you suddenly as a snare:

Apathetic or indifferent to God and purpose.

I consider a person spiritually lazy if they don't desire to grow in understanding of their purpose and place in creation. If they don't even bother to seek a creator and meaning. Also if they do not try to better them self

Right... spiritually lazy actually (as Wondergirl said) translates to: "You're too smart to buy into the BS I bought into." Or, "You have your own brain and choose to use it."
I know nothing about star trek.

It means the person does not take part in spiritual affairs - or if he does, he is lazy.
