No midge, not dysfunctional at all.
Do you see all the star trek questions this morning?
Think they just happened on their own?

I think love and harmony between people is the natural state, and it is the corruption by selfishness that is unnatural.
I think the whole of humanity is in a collective process of spiritual healing and recovery from past conflicts and abuses, so that we are all like members in group therapy.
I find mutual sharing to be part of the healing process, so that everything can be used for common good and benefit; and especially believe the Internet is a gift to accelerate that process.
Thank you for sharing and I'm sorry if you have experienced conflicts with others. I hope those may be resolved to benefit all parties, as I think that is why these things happen -- to help us to grow to be bigger people, better than in the past, with new appreciation and understanding of what we previously misjudged.

VERY disfunctional family.... but a family none-the-less.
You just have to shrug off the jokes aimed at you and throw some back out every once in a while.

Some of the long term regulars. But love isn't always the motive. Some like to long term belittle others.
But long term regulars aren't breaking the yahoo rules regularily. (Or they would have been kicked out.) So, have a certain amount of respect for others.

The long termers (lifers?) do get along, despite their varying views. We've all bought into theme of the for example.
The short termers - the ones who pop in and shoot, then leave - they're just looking to rile some folks up.
Some we really like. Some we tolerate - nicely. If we can't get along in here - a microcosm of the world, what makes us think we can get along in the bigger picture of the world.
I checked my network - most of them are atheists and pagans. They seem to be the most reasonable when it comes to presenting thought provoking questions. It is them who keep me coming back - not my fellow christians.

I try to love others as Jesus commanded... it's probably more honest of me to say that I wish no one on YA harm, but am not always exactly loving.
The "worst" I feel is that I do kinda wish that some people would go away or stop asking wasteful questions, but no hate there.

I genuinely care about people on this site. Some in a warm-family way. Others I think are a little nuts and I worry about them in a way that you worry about a person who is a bum on the street.

Playmates, not family members.
I wouldn't loan any of you money.
But I might come to your wedding.
If it's open bar.
And I don't have to bring a present bigger than a cork screw.

I think so. I actually feel a little bonded to the regulars on here, even though I don't really know them and we don't talk.
