I don't feel that why, nor do I ever get the impression that God is "making" me do anything.

Because the first and foremost rule of Christianity is to walk in love. When we are being rude, are we walking in love towards that person?

Sorry, I thought you asked about being RUDE. Sorry, I need to get my glasses repaired. Ok, we're talking about NUDE not rude!! Sorry!

Well, I don't feel embarrassed and guilty about being nude when I'm at home in my bedroom, but when I'm out in public, I think there should be certain standards.

After all, a big chested woman may be pleasurable to stare at going down the street by a man, but it also could create a distraction for a driver and cause an accident. Also, think about someone who is very overweight, would you want to see that person hanging their stuff all over for you to see? What about an elderly wrinkled person?

I think embarrassment can be something very healthy if it prevents us from doing things that make us look stupid.

No one can make anyone feel anything. Get it. In Genesis, the God I worship "made a garment fashioned from skin" for Adam and Eve. It says nothing about 'embarassed'. I see care.

It is the fault of religious zelots and not any spiritual being that might exist. Some bodies like that of Serena Williams I don't want to see nude.

Because humans are basically animals deep down, and men have a much harder time keeping their hands to themselves than women do, men would constantly keep after women if we were so nude.

Therefore, religion makes it shameful to be naked... because men have no self-control. That's why the Arab states make women completely cover themselves... so men won't be tempted. Rather than teach the men self-control, they punish the women.

All religions have that as a basis in their belief because WAY back, when they made up God, they used him as a means to push their shame onto all believers. Men can't control themselves so everyone is shameful.

Scary, isn't it?

I don't think God can make someone feel embarrassed about something. Freewill and all that.

We feel embarrassed because upon being nude in front of others, you are breaking socially constructed norms.

Most people are embarrassed about being nude in public. It is nothing to do with a deity-figure, but a psychological distress at the thought that people would be able to see inside us at our innermost thoughts and desires.

I can see how you might attribute it to the concept of an omniscient deity.

Actually, I don't think is God that does that. You see, when Adam and Eve partook of the fruit of knowledge of good and evil, that knowledge made them aware that it is wrong to be nude in public.

It's just like anything else, there are times when it is appropriate and times when it is not appropriate.

I don't think it's about being embarassed, I think it's about there being a time and a season for everything. Home alone=naked, walking down the street=clothed. Not to mention, most people in the world you wouldn't want to see naked anyway. There is something to be said for modesty.
