No. Agnostics are probably the more realistic of the bunch, you can't know for sure if there is or isn't something that you haven't seen or haven't seen proof for, or against.
=) Smile, you're amongst a smart group of ppl. =D

It depends on the individual.
There are 2 kinds of agnostics. Those who don't care and those who are seeking.
As for the ones who simply don't care, they are the ones who are too busy drinking, doing drugs, or enjoying the pleasure of the world to care about what happens after they die. These would be the ones also seen as cowardly. This means that they are taking the "easy" way out by just claiming they don't know, rather than taking a stand for their beliefs.
Some agnostics don't know but are seeking the truth. This is commendable, because if you seek the truth, you will find the truth. I was agnostic for many years, but I kept seeking, and now I have found the truth in a world of lies, and I am absolutely assured of what will happen to me when I die.

You're too young to be a coward. You should just be in the early phases of your spiritual growth. There are noncommittal agnostics, but you just haven't had the time to consider things. If you are on the fence at 40 for lack of commitment, that is cowardly. If you made an honest effort to answer the question of faith and remain an agnostic at 40, then you might be subject to judgment.

You're not a coward. The real cowards here are the ones who are supposedly "christian" but they refuse to have an open mind and open heart. Thats the basis of christianity. If you judge people you're just not a true christian. Being agnostic is not cowardly, it's just taking the facts as you see them and applying them to your life. You're not afraid to stand on your own and question things that don't have any proof. A man wrote the bible. Men in general are subject to embellishment. I find it hard to believe that all the supernatural things happened back in the day, but nothing is happening now.

If agnostics are cowards, we are all cowards. The very word Agnostic describes someone who doesn't know. None of us knows for certain whether or not God exists. But to answer your question, no I don't think that agnostics are cowards. Questioning God is an important thing to do no matter where your faith is or isn't inclined.

I don't think that's necessarily true. I know some people who consider themselves Agnostic because they cannot honestly say that they believe in a god of any sort, but at the same time, they don't feel they can say that no god exists.
I would only call it cowardly if someone was using it as a crutch. But most of the agnostics I know are what I call "seekers" - they just haven't found their nitch yet.

Midge... I just read about you, believe it or not. Somebody said you have good insight. And someone lets his daughter read your posts and the answers so that she can, "see what a harlot looks like."
Spiritually lazy? Agnostics, generally, are still seeking answers. Everyone else has already settled. So how are we lazy? You believe some BS you've been spoon-fed by a bunch of people who can't even agree on their own religion? Maybe you are spiritually lazy. Christians are cowardly. Rather than face the world on their own, and take responsibility for your own actions, you blame everything on either God or Satan. Why not own up to the fact that you're poor because you never applied yourself at anything, instead of saying God's testing you? Why not admit that you don't get along with the people at work because you are "holier-than-thou" not because they are "persecuting" you for your faith? Read some books that have a view that opposes yours. Read the Quran. Read "Existentialism and Human Emotions" by Jean-Paul Sartre. Read "fear and Trembling" by Soren Kierkegaard. Read up on Antone Lavay (I can't spell his name), and you will realize that satanism has nothing to do with satan. Chances are you didn't know that, because the Bible doesn't tell you. And your pastor won't. And your Christian "brethren" won't. Use your own F-ing brain for once in your pathetic life. And leav us agnostics alone. We have our beliefs, and you have yours, you spiritually lazy, self-righteous, pompous zealot.

I don't know about all agnostics. I think that some agnostics, this goes for some (not all) atheists as well, simply don't want to find out if God exists and if he does what he wants of them because they enjoy their lifestyle too much and are afraid that learning a
the truth about God may require them to change their lifestyle.
If a person has gone through an honest, sincere search for God, they will find Him. It is the way of God to reveal himself to all people who sincerely seek after him. Jesus said: "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" (Matt 7:7)

Depends on why you are an agnostic. If you are one because you believe that it is truly impossible to tell then no. If you are because it sounds like a nice compromise position or you don't want there not to be a god, then yes.

No, I don't think all agnostics are cowardly. I don't know you all that well, but you don't strike me as cowardly.
There's some cowardly people in all groups, I'd say.
