How about getting together and making homemade pizza. You can buy the premade shells in the grocery store and if necessary the sauce.
Everyone can have fun chopping and getting ready all the ingredients for the toppings. Also lets everyone have whatever they like best.
You can add a veg. or fruit salad to go along with your pizza and everyone can join in on that also.

MACARONI CHEESE.
Serves four.
175g (6 oz) dried macaroni
50g (2 oz) butter
50g (2oz) plain flour
600ml (1 pint) milk
175g (6 oz) Cheddar or Gruyère cheese, grated
salt and pepper
25g (1 oz) Cheddar or Gruyère cheese, grated
HEAT YOUR OVEN TO 180°C/350°F//gas mark 4.
Turn on your oven and put the macaroni into a pan
Cook it following the instructions on the packet and drain when it's cooked.
To make the sauce, melt the butter in a pan over a low heat.
Stir in the flour and cook for one minute
Take the pan off the heat and add milk a little at a time, stirring all the time
Return the pan to the heat and start to bring to the boil, stirring all the time - the sauce will stick if you don't stir it.
The sauce will begin thickening. Let the sauce bubble for a minute then turn off the heat
Stir in the cheese
Pour the sauce over the cooked macaroni
Stir it really well so that the sauce coats all the pieces of macaroni
Grease a ovenproof dish and pour in the cheesy macaroni
Sprinkle on grated cheese for topping and put into oven for about 25 minutes, until the top is golden brown

well, if you have chicken, tortillias, and the ingredients for salsa, keep reading...
3 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
1/2 bunch fresh cilantro
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 (14 ounce) cans stewed tomatoes
2 serrano chilis, seeded and chopped
salt and pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS
Combine chives, cilantro, garlic, tomatoes, peppers, salt and pepper to taste in an electric blender. Pulse until the salsa is to your desired consistency.
let someone make the salsa as listed above.
Let your 8 year old season the torillias.
1 tbsp pepper
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp lemon pepper
spread over 10-12 totillias.
since cutting is for older adults, cut the 4-5 chicken breas into strips and bake. when the chicken is half done, put the chicken in the seasoned tortillias and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. serve with salsa and enjoy

I have used this a few times and it is always a winner-regardless of the kids ages! They put what they want, so there is no complaint that they dont like dinner! The easy thing is, you can always buy frozen dough at the grocery if you dont have time to do fresh dough. You can always use a breadmaker to knead home made dough as well!
They do take time, but they are good!
Crust: 2 1/2 to 3 cups all-purpose or bread flower
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 package regular or quick active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
3 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil
1 cup very warm water (120* to 130*)
Mix one cup of the flour, the sugar, salt and yeast in large bowl. add 3 tablespoons oil and warm water. Beat with electric mixer on medium speed 3 minutes, scraping bowl frequently. Stir in enough remaining flour until dough is soft and leaves side of bowl. Place dough on lightly floured surface.
Knead 5 to 8 minutes or until dough is smooth and
springy. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and let rest 30
minutes.
Calzone:
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 ounces)
1/4 pound salami, cut into thin strips
1/2 cup ricotta cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves
2 roma (plum) tomatoes, chopped
freshly ground pepper
1 large egg, slightly beaten
1. Make dough and let rest 30 minutes
2. Heat oven to 375*. Grease 2 cookie sheets
3. Divide dough into 6 equal parts. Roll each part into 7 inch circle on lightly floured surface with floured rolling pin.
4. Top half of each dough circle with mozzarella cheese, salami, ricotta cheese, basil and tomatoes to wtihin 1 inch of edge. Sprinkle with pepper. Carefully fold dough over filling; pinch edges or press with fork to seal securely.
5. Place calzones on cookie sheets. Brush with egg. Bake
about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
I made some tomato sauce to dip them in! I
also read somewhere if you put a pan of water in the
bottom of the oven the crust will come out crispier!

I know that I have four boys aging from 20 months to 15 years and the 3 older boys love to do chicken dinner cook-offs. They do peanut butter cookies for dessert! Anyways they do chicken, rice, mashed potato's, corn, and cranberry sauce, and last but def not the least the loved biscuits. We use Pillsbury because the younger kids can unroll them and place them on the cookie sheet!

You need to have a taco night!
There are plenty of quick easy jobs for everyone, from cooking the meat to chopping up veggies, grating cheese and preparing dishes of salsa & sour cream!
Then everyone gets to make their taco with the fillings they like.
