Obviously you're a Ricky Hatton fan, and obviously you're from England (my bad! Akansas). There's nothing wrong with supporting your fighter, I think that's fantastic. The problem is you bought into an Illusion thank Frank Warren created. Ricky could have stayed great by English standards but he made the mistake of crossing the pond and not putting referee Micky Vans in his pocket.

Ricky looked like a amateur fighter against Callazo. Callazo rocked him several times throughout that bout, He was slow and his Super power wasn't evident. He was cautioned by the referee for using his head and elbows something he's not use to because Micky would let him get away with flagrant fouls like he did Kostya Tszyu. Ricky's excuse for this "He didn't feel comfortable at the higher weight"

Ricky's fight with Juan Urango was even less impressive, he was hurt several times throughout that bout too. He was pushed around the ring and since coming to the states he develop swelling around his eyes. Ricky was given another gift decision.

Now there's a problem that Ricky won't be able to get out of all of Frankie's money and all of Frankie's men won't be able to put Ricky back together again. Jose' Luis Castillo is going to stop Ricky inside of ten rounds. There will no excuses necessary because he will get knocked out. He's fighting a fighter that will hurt him to the body and the head.

Ricky will have to go to his favorite Pub and sit next to "Naz", Lennox and soon Joe and Khan and talk about the biggest mistakes of their lives..crossing the pond and fighting fighters who can truly fight and not Frankies hand picked "opponents"

I must give Ricky credit because he is trying. He has heart, but the gyms in America are filled with fighters with heart.

Thanks for the question.

Frank D, I will keep your father in my constant prayers.

Im a massive Hatton fan myself and have been following him everywhere to watch him for the last 5 or 6 years including to that Collazo fight in Boston where i dont think he quite got the one sided beating that my friend Santana D is saying, but he definitely got the shock of his life from a fighter that he was meant to beat quite easily. As for your question i would say that there are a few bad match ups for Ricky at the minute and most of those are coming from Welter and above, i really wouldnt want to see him in against Mosley or Cotto at this point in time but on the other hand i would put him in against Mayweather Jr in a shot. I think he will have one helluva battle on against Castillo in the upcoming fight in June which i will be ringside to watch, but i am hoping he can come through this fight which is no foregone conclusion, i would say it is pretty much 50/50 this is gonna be a war.
So i would say that yes he is beatable but lets just hope that it doesnt happen any time soon.

For Santana D - I was sorry to hear about the problems that you have been having this past year, my father is going through the same thing at the minute and i know that it must be a difficult time for you and your family, all the best in making the speediest recovery possible.

Cotto would be capable of beating Hatton but i'm not 100% sure if he would. That would be a great fight.

Floyd Mayweather could be Hatton for sure. Floyd is too quick on his feet and too fast with his hands. If Hatton happened to stray around 154 there is tons of guys who can beat him.

Your question will be answered in Hattons next fight. Castillo is going to give the hitman his first loss but like Santana D said, at least Hattons trying. I'm surprised he even took the fight with Castillo because he is going to lose. He looked terrible in his last few fights.

As far as Mayweather goes people always say "Hatton would be too strong for him, his body shots would hurt Mayweather" ect ect. Thats the exact same thing people said about Arturo Gatti and look what happened in that fight.

Like someone else said, i'd throw Zab Judah into the list of names who could probably beat Hatton.

Best answerer- As Roy Jones fights at 4 weights higher than Hatton it is obvious that he would win. Learn your boxing.

Mayweather and De La Hoya are the names out there where there could be a big pay day. They have both said that they would be willing to fight at L/Welter. I think that these are the only 2 fighters who are capable of a win against him. Hatton is a very good fighter and if any of these fights pull off he would have to come in 110%.

each fighter has a gamble of thrashing every person. no person is suited. Boxers are human beings and would make blunders or have another misfortune. the difficulty I see with Hatton is after thinking how he dealt with being at 147 final time and his form of struggling with, i do no longer think of he has a gamble. i think of Hatton will ought to do something diverse... something that we've in no way seen out of the different Mayweather challenger. regrettably, i do no longer think of Hatton has the organic length and potential to do what i think of might artwork ultimate against Mayweather.

Here's a short list of fighters that could beat Hatton. Cotto, Mayweather, Chico Corrales, Luis Castillo.

If we're talking welterweights, there a handful of fighters beetter than Hatton- Cotto, Margarito, Paul Williams, Shane, and I'd even thow Zab and top prospect Andre Berto, in there as fighters who would beat Ricky at 147.

At 140, which he was wise to go down to after the Collazo fight, I think Vivian Harris could give him serious problems, as can Corrales (who is fighting Joshua Clottey, the guy who was beating Margarito in December before he broke his hand).

I think Castillo wins that fight and exposes Hatton as another overrated English boxer.

Blogbaba agrees completely with Santana, I couldn't have said it better and gave him a thumbs up. Floyd Maywheather would make it look like the Gotti fight and easily take Hatton to school. It would be bad for Ricky.
