at the moment it is still legal to have a pro-docking vet to dock tails-whether they prefer the banding method or not is up to them-it 'supposedly' becomes illegal on the 6th april-so any litters born BEFORE that date can still be docked and supposedly litters born AFTER that date cannot! please see the council of docked breeds website for details!

From the 7th April, the barbaric practice of docking dogs tails using any method will be illegal in the UK, and about time too!!

It is still legal for a vet to do it, but not yourself. This has been the law since 1995. The new law on docking comes in on april the 7th i believe (definatly april).
Not sure what methods can be used though.
So if you must then take them to the vets.

I don't know about legalities, but it is often cruel to leave dogs bred to be docked with a tail.

For example, we have a cocker spaniel and they have huge tails, we didn't dock him due to financial reasons (vets are expensive). We ended up having the tail amputated because he kept injuring it and spraying blood around as he wagged it vigorously.

Consult a vet, I reckon. If they refuse, consult a local dog rearer or working-dog owner.

Until April yes but don't do it.

My friends rottie is undocked and looks so much better than the docked ones.

Docking is cruel.

Leave the pups the way they were intended to be.
Would you cut a baby's toes off?
