Terrorism is just not working for me. I'm sorry but, I am not scared of any kind of islamic jihad doomsday scenario. I mean, c'mon Americans. There are a lot of things that kill us that we don't wet the bed over.
Like car wrecks. You have a way better chance of being a suicide bomber yourself, talking on your cell phone in your big truck. I am scared of you. What's the difference? You run your "avaitor" into me and I die.
How about being 75 pounds overweight? you know that hidden in your body's infrastructure unknown cells are lurking in your bloodstream, waiting to detach and strangle you from the inside of your brain?
Are you afraid of cigarettes? Are cigarettes a national security threat? More people die of cigarettes every day than were killed in the WTC massacre.
What terrorizes you?

I am not afraid of terrorists, but I do believe they are a real threat. Ignoring terrorism for many years led to an escalating series of attacks. Terrorists cannot be allowed to act with impunity, but at the same time we cannot allow the government to frighten us into willingly giving up our liberties either. There is a proper balance which needs to be maintained. So while I do not believe anyone should live their lives in fear everyday, I do believe that everyone should recognize the potential threat properly.

I am not afraid of terrorism just what they do. The fact that they did attach on American soil makes me uneasy. But I don't walk around in a fog and hide a be afraid. I am more aware and I have instructed my children in the same way. We have taken percautions that if something did happen we would be able to survive. But then again I live in California and I have to be ready for earthquakes....so being prepared isn't being scared it called being ready and being real. There are alot of potential killers....ie...car accidents, shooting, etc etc but you just have to be informed and not afraid.

The people who are not afraid of terrorists are the people who are protected from terrorists by organizations such as the US military.
Trivia note: Al Quaeda applauded the Democrat victory in the last election because they felt that this benefits them.

If you are not afraid of terrorists then you should thank the people who defend you. (Law enforcement, military, intelligence agencies). If you don't live in fear it means they are doing their job well.
There are a lot of places in the world that lack the luxury of not being afraid.

I think most people are not afraid of terrorists, which p*sses off the Governments of both the UK and the US who seem to be trying to frighten their respective populations into not objecting to draconian, illiberal laws designed to usher in a police state (e.g. ID Cards and SOCPA in the UK, PATRIOT Act in the US).
If the people aren't afraid, they start asking questions.

It is the propaganda tool used to get our minds off the world domination desires of the Bush Administration. They are scared to death to talk the real issues in America so they need a diversion which this fits very well.
