My wife is on bedrest during her pregnancy. I would like to take two phones, hook them together, and have them to where I can speak to her, sort of a cheap intercom system. I know that I just need to wire the two together with phone cord to have them to where I can speak to her, but how do I get them to ring? Any ideas?

not much you can do for that - ring voltage on a nirmal phone is about 90 volts (depending on where you live etc)

since you have two phones and they only require 1pair of wires (ie: red and green) use another pair in your cable to connect a simple battery and buzzer - with a push botton at her end and buzzer at your end

or consider some inexpensive walkietalkies from walmart - that way you can be anywhere aorund the house (out in the yard etc ) and she can contact you easy

Good suggestion above, I wll say ringing volatge on a phone is around 90 VAC, while the talk path works of a DC current. Id agree get some cheap walky talkies, be alot more versitile and easier. Plus you can use them on a road trip later down the road or just what ever.
