it's supposed to be a light hearted insult. Usually spouted by unimaginative women. Although typically, both men and women are rubbish

I think when they say that it means that you are stereotypically not taken to incessant conversation, you typically do not repress bodily functions, or you are just after sex.

That being the case. I've found in myself most of these things to be true if one wants to focus on my negatively male behavior.

Rarely is it discussed that we are protective, providers, strong, succint. This is typically because the women who say this THINK that a man who would be more like their girlfriends would be better, except if at that moment they need a strong and succinct provider.

The key is to learn the very important skill of passive listening, where you can hear and respond to a conversation while seeming interested but not paying attention...

haha!

She wasn't giving you a compliment dummie! You are mistaken- A typical man is just like any other man on the planet. She is telling you you have no qualities that set you apart from any other man. There is nothing special about you that makes you different or unique. You are just like any other typical male.

There're two sides to everything...somehow, I don't think this is the good side...

Bad side may include:
1. insensitive
2. competitive
3. total blur about girls
4. unromantic
5. egoistic
6. ignorant
7. inflexible

Good side =):
1. Protective
2. Stable

Sorry I can't come out with more typical good sides, I'm a female afterall =D

I think it means just that your typical, I personally do not like being put into the typical category and would prefer to be considered A-typical

Nope, I'm afraid you're wrong. If I call someone a typical man, then I don't like him, and I don't want to know him. A"typical" man is basically sexist, ignorant, rude, unfaithful, uncaring, unable to understand, comprehend or listen to anything other than his own views.

When I look for a boyfriend, I look for someone who's as far away from a typical man as possible.

Sorry, but you did ask!

It's both good and bad. They say it like it's bad. Act like it's bad. But they like it.

If you weren't like the typical male is some way then you'd be more like a metrosexual. So I would say that it's a good thing overall.

That rather depends on whether she had her hands on her hips. If she did - it's a bad thing!

What did you do?!

For the girls you must be both man and woman at the same time!!

it depends on what you have been talking about, in what context how she said that and what you did for her to say that, like if a bloke wolf whistles at a girl you think typical bloke stairs at any female with a pulse etc, its stereotyping really

your girl thinks you just a macho stud that doesn't have any emotions or caring for her or anyone else boy your in deep trouble hunny lol talk to her about it and try to change some things be more sensitive listen to what she is saying snuggle with her and dont push for sex at all and when she is ready to have sex then ask her what she wants and be soft sometimes

but you should wait till your married to have sex just a thought
